When everything is working well, computers are fast, email is running, nothing has been hacked, it can be easy to wonder what we’re actually up to behind the scenes. That’s a fair question, and we want to answer it honestly.

The truth is, most of what we do is invisible by design. Security patches get applied overnight. Threats get blocked before they ever reach you. System issues get spotted and (in most cases) fixed before they turn into outages. If you’re not hearing from us, that’s usually a sign things are going well, not that we’re doing nothing.

The quietest IT team is often the busiest one. Our primary job is to prevent problems, not just fix them after the fact!

For those of you on a Managed Services Agreement (MSA) with us, we want to be clear about the level of work going on in the background every single month on your behalf.

What we do, proactively, every month!

While having the right software and systems in place is important to achieve the following, not everything is automated.  A great deal of what we actively work on deserves and demands manual intervention

  • 24/7 Monitoring – Your computers, servers, and devices are watched 24/7 for signs of threats, unusual activity, or performance issues.  To be clear, we’re not watching screens, we’re watching events, signals & background telemetry information.  This and components of the below is achieved via our Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) system.  And what sets NOYTECH apart from other IT providers is the carefully curated policies, rules and scripts developed over 17+ years of operation that provide us real, relevant and necessary feedback (without the noise), enabling us to deliver targeted proactive support.  Our ‘input’ extends beyond what our clients’ devices tell us – we’re actively reviewing Tech news, forums and online communities to understand new and emerging threats…every single day!
  • Software & Security Patching – Operating system and software updates are applied regularly and carefully, keeping your systems protected against the latest known vulnerabilities. Managed via our RMM, configured to strike a balance between stability and security.  Unfortunately, some updates are pushed critically by Microsoft and other vendors, and are sometimes deployed outside of our control.
  • Threat Detection and Response – Our security tools actively hunt for malware, ransomware, and intrusion attempts, and respond automatically or with direct team involvement when something is detected.
  • Microsoft 365 Security Monitoring – We monitor your email accounts and cloud environment for compromised logins, phishing attempts, and suspicious access, including attacks that get around standard multi-factor authentication.  **Unfortunately, not all MSA Clients have opted in for this service as yet, even though it’s increasingly the greatest target for malicious attacks.
  • Backups – Your backups are checked daily to confirm they’re completing successfully and regularly tested so ensure that your data can actually be recovered if needed.
  • Proactive Maintenance – Disk health, system performance & cleanups, ageing hardware warnings, and capacity planning are reviewed before small issues become big ones.  As part of our weekly maintenance tasks, our structured tools and scripts go to work to clean and updated computers.
  • AI and Security Reviews – We continuously assess how advancements in AI are changing the threat environment, and update our approach to keep your systems protected.  AI is a fantastic tool for many businesses, but is unfortunately also a great tool for malicious actors using it to identify and exploit new vulnerabilities are incredible speeds.
  • Compliance Oversight – For clients in regulated industries like healthcare, legal and finance, we help ensure your IT environment stays aligned with relevant requirements.  This doesn’t just include the Australian Cyber Security Council’s Essential Eight framework, we incorporate industry specific requirements as well.
  • Priority Helpdesk Support – Fast, friendly support for your team when something goes wrong, with MSA clients getting priority response times when it’s really needed.  It’s important to understand that we are not an ‘All You Can Eat’ provider – while it’s rare that we bill for quick calls/questions, our support is not unlimited for the monthly MSA fee you may pay and those abusing the service are billed accordingly.
  • Regular Reporting and Communication – We keep you informed on the health and status of your IT environment without you needing to chase us.  We also understand there is such thing as too much information and ensure what is sent, is important.

  • Website Hosting and Development – Fast, secure, managed WordPress hosting and professional website design through our in-house team.
  • Business Phone Systems – Cloud PBX, VoIP, SIP, and NBN solutions through PhonesAtWork, often saving clients meaningful money on their existing plans.
  • Data Backup and Disaster Recovery – Server and endpoint backups with tested recovery, so a ransomware attack or hardware failure doesn’t stop your business.
  • Hardware Supply – Lenovo Computers and Servers, Ubiquiti networking, DrayTek firewalls, Yealink and Grandstream phone systems.  Brands carefully and deliberately selected after evaluation of quality, affordability and manufacturer support.  By limiting the brands we work with, we can optimise our work flows and product knowledge to support Clients on a deeper level.
    For every computer we supply, we go even further by prepping them in our own workshop allowing the time-consuming windows updates and installations to complete on our time (and internet connection), minimising or eliminating the disruption to Clients.
  • Secure Remote Access – Safe, reliable solutions for staff working from home or on the road, without compromising your network.
  • AI-assisted Workflow Automation – We help clients evaluate and implement AI tools to cut repetitive admin, improve communications, and do more with the team they already have.  Perhaps more importantly, we help clients understand the security risks associated with AI tools.  Check out our article here.
  • Ad-Hoc and Project Support – For clients not yet on a managed plan, we’re still here for one-off jobs, new setups, and troubleshooting when you need us.
